The week in review...
Tuesday
I went in the morning to get a blood test done because my parents are suddenly worried that i may have some sort of illness or something so they insisted that i do a blood test before i go to Japan, just because my medical check does not cover that. Sheesh. It's really expensive too.
After drawing blood and almost dying from hunger cos i had to fast, i went to collect my medical report that i'm required to submit. And then i headed down to school (i'm still calling it school...) for the photohunt recce.
Once again, i'm helping out for camp. And i have to say, i'm totally not impressed with their teamwork and level of efficiency this time. Hope they get a wake up call soon... And they actually forgot that they were supposed to recce for MI that night. Like, wth? Why am i the one reminding you?
But in all, it was still fun lah. I was dead tired by the end of the day and almost fell asleep while we were having our really late dinner after recce. Seriously! I was very hungry by then, but i was also so tired that i was ready to fall asleep on the table :P
Wednesday
Work again. I was actually pretty glad that after-work plans were canceled cos i was just so tired. Immediately after getting home from work, i just lay on the floor and concussed for over an hour before my mother woke me up for dinner :P
Thursday
Again with the errands. I had to go to the police complex at Outram to get my CNCC done. But first, i had to take a passport sized photo. I was so gan cheong cos the photo shop at my place, which i thought opened at 10.30 actually opened only at 11! And the CNCC office closes at 12.30! Luckily the other, more expensive, shop was open, so i managed to get it done.
As expected of a police complex, i had to hand over my IC and go through a metal detector like the one they have at airports. There wasn't really a queue though, so i got the application done pretty quickly. My distorted fingerprints confused the machine though :P
I'd expected to take a much longer time than i did, but was quite happy to finish it early. Then i headed off to meet the progs team for another round of recce for amazing race. I was super shocked to learn that they were just setting off when i called. And then when i finally met them, the first thing they did was have lunch. Sigh.
Recce was quite fun, but it was blisteringly hot, so it was rather uncomfortable and we jumped at any chance to get into an air conditioned environment. Still, because we are going to fewer places this year, and because they actually have last year's stuff to work with already, recce ended earlier than i expected. Much earlier than i expected, considering that they started so late.
And so i dragged myself down to town, all disgusting from sweating the whole day, to go meet SH and Chris C for dinner. Turned out to be not as awkward as i thought considering that it's been a year since i met Chris and i don't really know him or have Facebook conversations with him like someone else... Haha.
Friday
Work again in the morning, after which i went to meet Taky and Steph for dinner. At Novena no less. Gah!
I'd actually had some time before going to meet them, so i took a 15 min nap since i was really tired. I almost didn't wake up! Even though i'd set my alarm. Thank goodness for my brother kicking me awake! :P
Had a nice time chatting with them, although Steph was really late and Taky and i were so hungry by the time she arrived! Interesting topics and new developments in their lives :) I miss hanging out with and talking to them :(
And i have to say that the conversations from that night led me to have a very strange dream... Haha! :P
Saturday
I had to work the afternoon shift cos someone could only work in the morning. Good thing was that i could wake up later. Bad thing was i had to work till late. On a Saturday night too :(
By the time i woke up, i only had time for lunch before going to work :P
Had one of the lousiest days at work in a long while. Working with incompetent people who are constantly seeking approval... Got quite pissed off when i was left alone outside to fend of a horde of customers while said person was hiding inside doing dunno what. Normally, i trust my co-workers to have enough sense to help out, especially when it's busy, but this time, i actually had to yell for the person to come out!
The auntie also complained to me later on that she was unhappy with said person too cos she didn't do her work properly and didn't listen to her advice. Seriously, i ended up super stressed cos of this one person! I was so glad when her shift ended and she left!
What else got me pissed off was this family of foreigners that came in later that night. They were so freaking annoying! Just because you're rich doesn't mean you can do away with social graces! Freaking spoilt children who order so much and then keep changing their minds. Best was when one of the kids ordered durian ice cream and then later the mother came back and wanted to change the whole thing cos her daughter cannot eat durian. Stupid! Don't order it if you can't eat it lah! And so, we had to change her entire, barely eaten, double scoop on a chocolate cone for free. Do you know how wasteful it is?
The parents weren't much better too. They couldn't get their order straight and wanted so much, it took 2 people a good 10 minutes to finally figure out what they wanted. By then i was so pissed with them i didn't want to attend to them at all and just left it to the others. Seriously, they are rude, annoying, insisted that i opened a table for them in the already packed place and left a huge mess to clear up when they left. Idiots!
Honestly, i rarely get this angry at work. It was a terrible day. And i was tired from the rest of the week. And i somehow ended up breaking a bowl. First time i've ever broken anything there. Made me feel extremely terrible :(
I had a pretty lousy 9 hour shift. Nine. Hours.
Dead. Tired.
And so, i am so glad that i don't have anything on today. So glad that i can have a day of rest, because my body is near exhaustion. I took a nap this afternoon, but that is not nearly enough. I need more rest. I can really feel the fatigue after spending the whole week on my feet, literally.
I'm definitely taking a day off this week. I need the time to rest and start planning for Japan. Yes, i haven't planned and my parents are totally stressing me out by asking me whether i've done this and that. Sigh. Anyone wants to plan a packing list for me? :P
Sorry if this post sounds very sad. I'm just really tired! :(
Thankful for: getting through the week, that my health report was ok, that i got some things done for Japan at least, that i got to meet up with friends even though i must have been really lousy company, for my parents support and, i'm just really glad the week is over and i can hopefully get more rest
