I had a super tiring day.

It started ok with me talking to the better class about why they should improve their writing cos i totally didn't plan anything for the one period today. Then i went to the naughty class and ended up scolding them really badly cos a whole bunch of them didn't hand in multiple pieces of homework due ages ago and have been repeatedly making empty promises to hand them in "tomorrow".

I absolutely hate people lying to me and i guess i just got too fed up and told them straight that they were liars. I gave them till Monday to hand everything in, otherwise they'll have to stay back for however long it takes to do their work on the spot. Honestly, if i make them stay back, it means i'll have to stay back too, which i don't want to, so i really hope this threat works :P

Later i had to give some of them a make up test and since they had some sort of remedial class or whatever at 2pm, they bargained with me to let them use half their project work period to do the test despite it being incredibly noisy. I shouldn't have given in.

It was a total battle between trying to stop the class from playing games on the computers (we were in the computer lab), trying to stop those taking the test from talking to each other and the rest of the class, trying to stop the class from talking to those taking the test, trying to stop the class from making so much noise and settling disputes between group members of certain groups. Sigh.

And the worst part? When the rest of the class was dismissed, i had to chase them out of the lab which they are usually quick to vacate and repeatedly stop some of them from trying to help those taking the test! Don't they understand the meaning of cheating?! I wish i could just fail them right away if they even uttered a word during the test, but i can't. Sigh.

And then after work, even though i already had to stay back to give them the retest, i was told that i had to have a meeting with the level coordinator to standardise the marking scheme for the test. And that took another whole hour when it really didn't need to. And the whole time, i was super hungry cos i hadn't had lunch.

And so, i'm feeling rather exhausted now. Not so much physically but mentally. I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday.

Happy thing for the day: The class actually seemed a bit interested when i was telling them about how writing well will help them in future. Heh.
