Today, i did something other than the usual data entry. Today, i did erasing! *fake enthusiasm* Hahaha! Literally, use an eraser to erase pencil markings from cards used in the experiment because they want to be environmentally friendly and reuse the cards. Heh :P
But it was a pretty slack day on the whole. The lack of participants meant that some sessions had to be replaced by surveys, so i didn't have anything to do during those sessions. Hence the erasing.
Tomorrow's the last day. I'm quite glad to get this over with actually. I'm really bored of it! :P
On the bus on the way home, this boy and his father got on. The boy was crying, the kind of crying where you can't catch your breath, but there were hardly any tears. He kept restarting his sentences since he couldn't catch his breath enough to complete the sentence. And even when he did complete his sentence, he still repeated himself over and over. I couldn't make out what he was saying half the time, but when i did, i was a bit freaked out.
He was scolding his father, apparently, and saying that his father must stay at home. And that he will not allow his father to go out any more. And that he will put something heavy on top of his father so that his father cannot move and cannot go anywhere.
o____o
And then he continued saying that he will make a room with no door to trap his father in so that his father cannot go out. There will only be a window for him to look out of.
O__________O
This kid, who looked to be of kindergarten age, is trying to imprison his father! And his father seemed really calm despite all this. He spoke softly to the boy, a great contrast to the boy's loud enough so the whole bus can hear cries. I don't know if he did that because he was embarrassed, or because it's something he's used to...
Something weird about the boy is also that he would cry and say all these things, then stop and get distracted by something outside. And just when you think he's done crying, he starts up again with the same intensity he had before!
First thing i thought of, being a psych major, was that this boy needs help. According to my own amateur analysis, i think the kid has some anxiety problems, probably greatly to do with separation anxiety. From observing this woman who seemed to be with them, although she kept a bit of a distance, i came up with this idea that the kid's parents are divorced and his father has remarried that woman.
I'll never know the truth, of course, but that kind of explains the separation anxiety, the woman's distance from the child despite the child having mentioned his mother and why the child has such freaky thoughts.
I guess my roots are still in psychology after all. Haha :)
I've decided that i absolutely need to sleep earlier. The lack of sleep makes me feel tired every day. That and the lack of exercise :P
I've heard that it takes 3 weeks to make a habit, therefore, i shall attempt to sleep before 1am and exercise at least 3 times a week for the next three weeks! At least. Cannot be too ambitious, yeah? Haha :P
Also, i should start to be more thankful, so i shall try to find something to be thankful for every day on my blog, no matter how small or simple it may be.
So, today, i am thankful for: being able to come home earlier than usual and nap :)
